Job Description:
This
is an opportunity for the right person to join a continuously
evolving medium-sized business that has maintained an exemplary

The EHS&Q Coordinator will take the lead role in maintaining
and further developing the site's EHS&Q Management System;
assuring compliance with EHS FIRST™ , regulatory, and site
requirements; developing corrective and preventive actions by
analyzing and assessing trend data; managing existing and implementing
further health programs and provide relevant EHS&Q training
to all site employees and contractors. Alcan Specialty Aluminas
Brockville is a team environment with opportunities for further

General duties will be:
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the plant EHS&Q activities
by working with the various departments and under the direction
of the Plant Manager
• Maintain, implement, and further develop the plant's EHS
FIRST and quality corrective/preventive action systems
• continue work on and submit total site environmental approval
• manage the site's program of industrial health and environmental
sampling
• maintain a working knowledge of the relevant local, provincial,
and national regulations governing the EHS aspects of the site
• refine existing and develop new hazard assessments for
operational tasks
• develop, implement, and deliver training programs for
EHS and Q aspects for all levels of the site organization
• act as an EHS resource during planning, design, and implementation
of new and modified equipment installations
• primary internal auditor for EHS and ISO 9000, ISO 14000,
and OHSAS 18000 standards
• obtain from and share with other area and Alcan sites
relevant EHS & Q best practices
Job Qualifications
• 3 to 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing setting
• Bachelor degree or advanced College Diploma
• CRSP or CHSC designation or international equivalent
• Continuous Improvement - Six Sigma training a plus
Specific Competencies
• Strong analytical and results orientation competencies
will be required in this role
• Strong communication skills (technical writing and oral
communication)
• Ability to relate at all levels in the organization
• Ability to provide training, develop local champions for
specific risk areas
• Excellent attention to detail
