General Information
This
position reports to the Director, Facilities Projects.
Responsibilities
-
Provide technical Health, Safety and Environmental expertise to
project personnel (project managers, contractors, safety representatives,
etc.) and the Facilities Projects Management Team.
- Assist with the implementation of TransCanada HS&E Management
System and the associated programs, analyse HS&E related data
and provide consolidated reports on HS&E performance for the
various clients, and provide regular HS&E communication all
for the Facilities Projects department.
- Provide root cause analysis expertise and lead Incident Investigation
Teams.
- Assist in the implementation of corrective action to address
incident investigation results.
- Provide HS&E support for project teams/project managers
including:
• Development of Project Site Specific Safety Plans, Emergency
Response Plans, Injury Response Plans, etc.
• Analysis of HS&E trends and appropriate response plans.
• Project HS&E Inspections and Audits.
• Job Safety Analysis.
• Active participation in HS&E related meetings (Pre-Job,
Safety Stand-down, Project Debrief, Incident Response meetings,
etc.).
- Assist with the implementation and tracking of HS&E corrective
actions to address planned inspection and audit findings.
- Provide expertise in HS&E regulatory compliance to the Facilities
Projects department and assist with the required implementation
plans to ensure compliance.
- Participate on the Pipeline / Facilities Projects Safety Committee.
Qualifications
and Education
Technical
expertise in the following disciplines:
- Health, Safety, and Environment management.
- Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate action as
part of an HS&E team.
- Demonstrated ability to build constructive and effective business
relationships.
- Ability to learn quickly, open to change and focused on continuous
improvement.
- Dedicated to meeting expectations and requirements of internal
and external clients.
Education/Experience:
- Technical training in the disciplines of Health, Safety and/or
Environment. Preferences will be given to applicants with a Canadian
Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, or equivalent
safety recognition.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in HS&E management as well
as energy transmission experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in pipeline and/or facility
construction related activities (i.e. meter station construction,
pipeline maintenance, or construction programs).
