Safety & Environmental Coordinator
This
is a Calgary-based position reporting to the Director - Safety
& Environment. The successful candidate for this position
will be responsible for the implementation of safety and environmental
programs for the Aggregates and Pipe divisions and assigned operating
locations. The skills and qualifications required are:
-
Post secondary education in safety, environmental, or a related
field.
-
Construction Safety Officer (CSO) and/or Canadian Registered
Safety Professional (CRSP) designation
-
Minimum five years experience in the coordination of safety
and environmental programs in a construction or industrial environment
-
Working knowledge of all relevant workplace health & safety
and environmental legislation
-
Strong problem solving, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making
skills
Responsibilities
for this position include, but are not limited to:
-
Ensuring policies and procedures comply with regulations and
ensuring operating compliance
-
Monitoring the quality of the incident investigations, training,
inspections, safety meetings, and audits
-
Completing environmental tests, reports, and operating permit
requirements
-
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with regulatory
agencies
