Guidelines
for BCRSP Scholarship Program
BCRSP
Scholarships may be applied for by any full-time student in
a two, three or four year Occupational Health and Safety Program
at the undergraduate level.
The student should have better than average grades (80% or better
with no failing grades) entering the final year of their program.
The prospective student shall apply in writing for the award.
- The
fund will be limited to a maximum of $5,000.00 per year. The fund
will not always be used. If there is no perceived need or demand,
awards will not be made.
- The
maximum award per applicant is $1000.00. Less may be considered.
The applicant must apply in writing.
- To
qualify, the applicant must be a full-time student in a full-time,
post-secondary program in Occupational Health and Safety Studies.
- Each
program must be a minimum of two years in duration which may be
expressed as a total number of class hours per program or approximately
2,000 ± 10% total class hours per program or equivalent (See
Appendix A).
- Each
program should have a majority of the courses proprietary to occupational
health, safety and environment topics (See
Appendix B).
- Each
program should have at least 15% of the courses dealing with mathematics
and natural sciences (see Appendix C).
- Each
program should have written communication as an important part
of student evaluation.
How
to Apply
Applicants must apply in writing to the BCRSP and include:
- official
transcript (sealed)
- course
outlines/descriptions
- confirmation
of acceptance into final year of program
- reference
letter from program chair or faculty advisor
- application
deadline: December 31
