Increasingly, ohs&e professionals are turning to the internet for their professional development needs.

While the BCRSP does not accredit or endorse the programs noted below, the information is provided as a courtesy to certification candidates and to current CRSPs.

British Columbia Institute of Technology

Most of the courses in BCIT's "Occupational Health and Safety" certificate program are available through distance education. The distance education courses are offered on three terms: January, April and September. Each term is 12 weeks in duration. A tutor is available during the 12-week term.

McGill University

McGill University's Distance Education, Department of Occupational Health, Faculty of Medicine offers a Master's Degree in Occupational Health Sciences. This program has been designed to respond to the specific needs of occupational health professionals and to maximize the benefits of distance education.

Ryerson University

Ryerson University, through the School of Occupational and Public Health, offers a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety via distance education (print or internet). The eight, one-semester courses required for the Certificate, examine a wide range of related perspectives, principles and issues. It has been designed especially for practitioners in the field who wish to expand their knowledge and improve their skills.

The University of New Brunswick - Don Sayers & Associates

The Certificate in Health, Safety and Environmental Processes Program focuses on providing generic process skills. The program will equip participants with the intellectual and practical skills needed to contribute widely to their organizations' goals, including identifying, prioritizing and managing workplace risks.

The HSEP certificate program is the first of its kind delivered entirely through web based interactive instruction.

The Certificate Program in Environmental and Occupational Health has been developed in conjunction with an academic committee comprising members from the Centre for Environmental Health, School of Environmental Studies, Occupational Health and Safety, and Division of Continuing Studies, University of Victoria; Workers' Compensation Board of British Columbia; Health Canada; and the Capital Health Region.
